Secure Your Date
First things first, we get that date locked in for your photoshoot. You can reach out to me via email, phone, or by using the contact form here on my website. There’s no commitment at this stage, so don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have, whether it’s about locations or pricing. I strive to provide as much information as possible on the website, but I’m here to address any new queries you might have. If you decide to proceed and book a session, we can arrange a date right away. I typically schedule most outdoor sessions close to sunset for optimal lighting conditions. To ensure top-notch conditions for every client, I seldom book more than two portrait sessions in a day. Keep in mind that not all sessions have to take place outdoors at sunset; I also work with flash equipment to deliver great photos in any setting. If you have something else in mind, feel free to ask. Weekends are a popular choice for bookings, so those slots tend to fill up quickly. Once you select a date, I’ll send you an email with details about the session fee and payment options, which include credit card payments through your smartphone or computer, as well as the option to mail a check.
Pre-shoot Design Session
I’m not sure if many photographers do this, but I consider it a crucial step. Every client and every photo session are unique. During our pre-shoot consultation, which I call the “Design Session,” we will discuss your expectations, the type of images you want to create, along with any other questions you may have. We can conduct this consultation over video or regular phone call, or even at a cafe or coffee shop. My aim is to create the images you have in mind. We’ll discuss shoot locations, clothing choices, poses, the style of images you want, and any other aspects to make your photos uniquely yours.
Portrait Session
This is the enjoyable part. By this stage, we’ve devised a solid plan for the shoot, so all you need to do is show up. My portrait sessions are always a good time. While most sessions take between 45 to 90 minutes (largely depending on the attention spans of the kids, or even the adults), I allocate two hours for every portrait session. If we’re conducting the shoot in the evening to capture that gorgeous sunset light, If you feel you require more time, we can always arrange that in advance. We’ll meet at the location and spend a few minutes going over the plan, where I’ll point out the spots we’ll visit first. Depending on the location, we may remain in a smaller area or cover more ground, but you’ll be informed in advance. Since young kids tend to have short attention spans, I’ll prioritize getting all the posed shots done first, and then it’s best to let the kids have some fun, resulting in those candid photos that everyone adores.
Client Selection Gallery
Before we proceed with the final retouching, I’ll create a private online gallery exclusively for you. This gallery will showcase all the unedited photos from our portrait session. I believe in involving you in the selection process to ensure your satisfaction with the final results. Once the gallery is ready, I’ll send you an email with a link to your personal selection gallery, along with instructions on how to access it. Inside the gallery, you’ll find all the raw images captured during our session, organized for your convenience. You can take your time to browse through the images, comparing poses, expressions, and moments. This step allows you to actively participate in curating the selection of photos that will receive the final retouching treatment. Feel free to share the gallery link with family and friends if you’d like their input as well. After you’ve made your selections, simply let me know which photos you’d like to see in their final edited form.
I’ll use your choices as a guide during the retouching process, ensuring that the images you hold dear receive special attention. I value your input, and together, we’ll create a set of portraits that truly reflect your vision and preferences. This collaborative step is all about making sure your final portraits are as unique and personal as you imagined.
Final Retouching
After the images are selected, I dive into the post-processing phase to bring out the best in your photos. This is where the magic happens as I meticulously retouch each image to ensure it meets the highest standards of quality. I proceed with photos you selected and carefully examine each one for composition, lighting, and overall appeal. I then apply subtle enhancements to make your portraits shine. These enhancements can include color correction, skin smoothing, blemish removal, and other touch-ups to ensure everyone looks their absolute best. I believe in a natural and authentic look, so I avoid excessive retouching that can make photos appear over-processed. The goal is to enhance your beauty and capture your personality while maintaining a genuine, unaltered feel.
Sharing
After the final retouching process is complete, your beautifully edited portraits are ready to be shared with you. I provide a secure, private online gallery where you can view and download your high-resolution images. You’ll receive an email with a link to your personal gallery, along with instructions on how to access and download your photos. You can share this link with friends and family, allowing them to view and download images as well. I want to make it as convenient as possible for you to access and share your cherished memories. Additionally, if you choose to order prints or products, I offer assistance in selecting the best options to showcase your portraits, whether it’s framing, canvas prints, or custom albums. I’m here to ensure that the final stage of our portrait photo session experience is as seamless and enjoyable as the entire journey. Your photos are now ready to be displayed proudly in your home, shared with loved ones, or treasured for years to come.
